Some of the judging was a bit weird, subject “ beach” then Rankin says he was disappointed that they didn’t go not Brighton town to get a different aspect of the task. How can you associate beach with town centres.?

I thought exactly the same.....just a technique employed to make you think they are on some superior level...apart from that it was good.

I watched the first half-hour or so and then decided to do something more useful and ironed a few shirts.

I couldn't help thinking Rankin was just a tad too full of himself.

I struggled when a contestant said that 2 vague pink blobs behind a watery window represented her father, everyone nodded sagely and said "Ah, abstract context"
Then a few minutes later one of Rankin's associates said " If you've got to explain the image to us than you haven't succeeded" !

Fully agree John, I watch very little TV, then when I do it turns out to be rubbish.

Here is one I took earlier...just in case its not immediately obvious to anyone its street lights through a bathroom window in a hotel in Malton, Yorkshire on a dark wet night in December 2014....but you already perceived that just by the image eh?

Bo and Brian, what a combination that would be, throw Harvey in and it will be perfect.

I don't tend to watch these anymore.

One of the previous ones had Martin Parr opening a cafe door, pointing his camera inside, closed his eyes and waved the camera about taking random shots.

He called it spontaneous art ..................... I called it memory card abuse.
