Posting PICS a problem again

Hey guys

A few weeks ago I had some issues posting pictures and so did quite a few other people as we kept getting error messages about server being to busy.

Got sorted for a while but seems the issue is back again. No matter what size pics I post from flikr it doesnt work

Edit: I'm referring to the dreaded error 503.

I've just checked through all of yesterday's posts. There were 36 links to flickr images.

I have done test uploads for several members and the posts have been successful.

I contacted the company hosting the forum and they replied, "After looking at your account, I have not found anything that could slow your forum down." This appears to be confirmed by the server stats I have accessed.

I have been in touch with another forum administrator to exchange notes.

If you are encountering problems, can you let me know if you are able to upload images to other forums?

Can you also check your download and upload broadband speeds when you encounter the problem? (See: http://www.speedtest.net/)

Finally, please provide your computer operating system (e.g. Windows 7 or Mac OS 10.6.8), plus your browser name and version (e.g. Firefox 15.0.1) when replying to this thread.

I'm about to try and post the content that I've just posted to another forum, I didn't have any issues with the other site.

Hi all, just thought I'd share some photos taken on our holiday to the Dodogne recently.
I admit that they're not the best quality and that I had to try and resurrect some with PS. I made a silly mistake and used a particular lens and filter with some of the shots and I had disastrous results. Many pictures were unusable due to my mistakes and unsteady hands. Anyway, here they are.

I note that my photo No:1 (1st July 1969, Tybach etc) on People and places has disappeared and in it's place there is a red X.

Perhaps this too is part of the problem mentioned here.

Well ill give it a go again!

My DL speed is 60Mb and upload 3.1Mb(not a issue)

I use a Macbook Pro. OSX Mountain Lion 10.8.2.

I have tried doing it with google chrome as well.

I tried posting last night numerous times and got the dreaded 503 each time.

Tried again at 02:00 same story.

This morning I zonked out all the Flickr links and re did them - bbc medium 800 x etc - no joy.

So I posted the images into a new gallery on my SmugMug account and copied the links - large 800 x etc - no joy

So finally thinking my images might be too much for one post I took them out one by one and tried posting each time - no joy.

After each of the above stages I previewed.

I haven't tried posting without previewing as the last time (my first post) my message was posted with the links in text etc.

I use Google Chrome. Windows 7. Download speed 45.66Mb, Upload 2.87Mb

Hope someone can help.

Just tried again using the SmugMug links and it worked except (Farm and Domestic Animals) that instead of images there is just the link to my SmugMug account.

Did I do something wrong or can I only get links from SmugMug that don't put actual images in the threads?

I seem to have had rather a shaky start
