Challenge 61: Every Picture Tells a Story - Book Covers.

    Thanks AlexR.

Hello everyone. Hope I get this right.

New theme is Book Front Covers I'm hoping its a challenge that people will enjoy.

Take a book, any book and take a photo that represents the story or content. Something that would normally be printed on the front cover. Fiction/Study/Hobbies/Mysteries etc etc

Please include the title of the book as the photo title.

Just remember if you are doing a cover for a murder mystery I'm not going to be held responsible for any bodies you have to create to get the cover just right.

I will be judging based on the following criteria:

    1. Would it make me buy the book. Would it make me pick the book up and read the blurb?
    2. Does the picture stand out from the others, will I still remember it next week,

    The standard competition rules apply:
    • The competition subject shall be selected by the winner of the preceding competition who will also judge the competition.
    • The period of the competition shall be 14 days: from Saturday 12th January 2012 to Saturday 26th January 2013(inclusive).
    • One picture per person; images should conform to general image posting rules.
    • Please use a Canon DSLR.
    • Posted images should be taken during the running period of the competition. Any images submitted that were taken before the competition started, or after the competition has ended, will be deemed invalid.
    • Images 800 pixels widest max (to help those with small monitors).
    • No Photoshop frames and borders.
    • Include a title; the image must convey the theme without title description.
    • Please, no comments, on images until the round is over.
    • No canvassing e.g. “I’m thinking of posting this image for the challenge, what do you think?”
    • The guest ‘judge’ will pick 1st 2nd and 3rd favourite images (please don’t PM them to discuss their choices).

Hope this is a "decent" challenge everyone.

Well, I took the more relaxed approach - i.e. forum members are all adults so I shouldn't nag them, they'll enter in their own good time, they're just leaving it to the last minute as they sift through their choices... And that turned out well, as you saw!
Great theme, by the way. I've got some good ideas; it's just a shame that the finished article never quite matches the imagination. Let's see what this weekend brings.

Sorry. Haven't done right well with the dates at all. Altered now, going saturday to saturday to keep to the 14day challenge.
