    Forum challenge no. 33 "A time to reflect" Sun 4th september to Sun 18th September

    Thinking up a new theme is harder than it looks! So hopefully this is acceptable,

    "A Time to Reflect"


    Competition will run from Sunday 4th September to 12:00pm Sunday 18th September & the standard rules apply.

    • The competition subject shall be selected by the winner of the preceding competition who will also judge the competition.
    • The period of the competition shall be 14 days and the judge will state the start and finish dates.
    • One Picture per person; images should conform to general image posting rules.
    • Please use a Canon DSLR.
    • Posted images should be taken during the running period of the competition. Any images submitted that were taken before the competition started will be deemed invalid.
    • Images 800 pixels widest max (to help those with small monitors).
    • No Photoshop frames and borders.
    • Include a brief description, and title; the image must convey the theme without title description.
    • Please, no comments, on images until the round is over.
    • No canvassing eg “I’m thinking of posting this image for the challenge, what do you think?”
    • The guest ‘judge’ will pick 1st 2nd 3rd favourite images (Please don’t PM them to discuss their choices).

                I have no facility in my processing programme (ACDSee Pro 4) to superimpose one pic on another in the computer. I photographed two subjects, printed them one on the other, scanned the print and then processed the result. Just so everyone knows in case it isn't allowed.

                    A huge thank you! To everyone who submitted entries into this compo, there are some thoughtful & amusing interpretations of the chosen theme.
                    It really was difficult to choose a winner & I've sat down at the computer several times today thinking I made my mind up, only to change it again when I look through the entries!
                    But ultimately I've decided to go for Garretts 'face in a clock face', firstly because it's such an interesting image with a wonderful texture & secondly because it was produced with such an inventive method.

                    So a hearty congratulations to Garrett!

                      O dear, o dear! Who was it who said after an earlier competition that the ideal is to be consistently second? Loz, thank you so much. I really am gobsmacked. There were such lovely and interesting images entered. Well done to all.

                      The hard part comes next -- choosing the subject and judging it. I'll post it tomorrow when I've slept on it.
