    Watermarks help please?

    Ok, I fancy having a go at putting a watermark on a few of my photos. I am using Aperture and am sure I can figure out how to insert a watermark using that. I know I need to make a png file for aperture to insert, and ideally for it to be translucent background but what I can't seem to find is how I make a watermark file in the first place? how do I make a png file, is there any free software I can get for mac that I can use?

    Any help appreciated.

    Don't worry sorted now from another forum. Needs some tweaking but the process at least works.
