    Remember JPEG (like TIFF, CR2 [Canon RAW Mark II], et al) is just a container that can contain a variety of objects (EXIF for example) as well as the information that is the image.

      Cheers both - need to do some reading - though to be honest as long as it gives me the images I need (and can sell!!) I'm happy to remain blissfully ignorant!!
