Any values in "Antique" photographic equipments?

Do members keep their "old" or should I say "film" cameras in the hope that it would become a rarity?

I am referring to Pentax K 1000, ME super & similar cameras with fitting lenses from standard to a Hanimex 80-200mm lens, Cobra flash guns, filters etc? Whilst moving houses I have come across a few of my old equipment, kept in very good condition & still working well.

Many thanks for your comments and views.

Now if you had a collection of pre war Leicas, 50 year old Nikon F's, Contax, Voigtländer ... or a WWII TTH Reccee camera.

... as for Pentax ... it would need to be an Asahiflex (pre Pentax branding).

I've a mate who collects such stuff.

Mind you if its sentimental reasons then hang on ... wish I had with my F1n, A1 and T90 ;-)

Hi! MX5. Unfortunately I couldn't afford Leicas, Voigtlanders and similar in the good old days (even now!). Pentaxes,Practicas were the only ones in my league, and I opted for the Pentax. Never let me down. I also discovered a Cobra and a Boots flash gun + a Hannimex 80-200mm push/pull soom lens. The Pentax I have is the one with the K mount! I forgot to mention the various filters I have found as well.

I still have my Pentax P30 and lenses, and used it last year at college while doing the darkroom part of the course. It was nice to use it again, and being able to develop what I took. I'v kept it rather than throw it away, but know it's not worth much.

My friend who collects cameras has two Pentax 67's which he still uses to very good effect.

I have an EOS30 & 50E sitting in a Lowepro Nova 4 bag, all doing nothing. Their lenses have been passed on apart from my 50mm 1.8. Occasionally I pop a battery in and play with the eye controlled focus (which I loved). Otherwise they are doing nothing, maybe someone would give them a good home!

              Hi
I put a Nikon "EM" on ebay which I bought in the early 80's with a cheap Telephoto lens last year, it made just over £70 !

Keep the kit in a well sealed container, and in about 20 years you might find a willing collector :-P

Thanks guys for your advice. My Pentax K1000 has got a f1.2 50mm lens, and I have also unearthed my Hanimiex 80mm-200mm zoom lens (push/pull variety), 2 Cobra flash guns, a compatible slave unit and some filters. The filter thread is 52mm. Still thinking.

I have a mint AE1 in black. Just 6 rolls of film, then packed away in a foam lined case with the battery removed. Plus canon 28mm f2.8, 50mm f1.8, 70 - 210 f4, 199a speedlight, lens hoods and caps and original receipt. They might be worth a few quid if they had the original boxes, but even though the AE1 is the much rarer black model, it is virtually worthless.
