    Climbing the learning curve

I'm still on a steep learning curve with the Canon 7D and Mk 2 70-200 'L' lens. Any helpful comments will be appreciated.

When I got the 70-200 I had to remember how shallow DoF gets with an f/2.8 200mm lens! And remember where that often forgotten button is to preview DoF. Think your cat may be suffering from DoF limits? Nice cat !!

But other than just be amazed at it's sharpness ...

It would be handy to post your exposure details (saves lazy people like me trying to find it ... and this browser I'm using doesn't have the Opanda widget).

Thanks for the advice. I too forget about that DoF button!

Ah you didn't say there was a 2x Extender involved as well. That explains the DoF.

Out of interest was it a Mark II or III ?

Are all of them using the 2xIII ? How much cropping have you done ?

Sorry you ask a question and I end up asking you loads of questions ...

I ask because I've used my 70-200 with a 1.4xII and thought about the 2xIII (rather than swap my 300f/4 for a 400f/5.6).

The robin and cat were shot with the extender; the other was with the 24-105 L lens and no extender. The first 2 were cropped quite heavily.
