    Holiday Postcards

We always like to send a few postcards to close family from our holidays but often found, particularly sending from Europe, the cards used to arrive a week or so after we were home. A couple of years ago we discovered Hugmail, where you can upload your own photo, add a message and they then deliver it from the UK in a couple of days, all for the cost of around the normal postage and card.

This is what we quickly put together for this holidays card just using the jpegs and minimal processing

Brilliant, hadn't come across this before but it's ideal for my mum who doesn't really do computers. Lately I've started sending postcards of from places we visit to my niece and nephews in place of birthday cards but this is even better as it has the personal touch. Thanks for sharing Stan.

            Cheers guys

Certainly worth thinking about and not for just holidays, anytime you may want to send a personal card

Heard earlier today that our postcards had been dispatched so with a bit of luck they will be delivered before we get back to the UK

Oh. I like that. I also like the photo of the cacti in the pots going up the stairs.

It was a great place to spend a morning, never seen so many varieties of cacti and the bonus was some dragonflies and damselflies around the pond.

BTW, the large cactus in the entre of the card is around 10 metres tall but is not real - so Dee tells me

Good idea Stan. Just to be different I send my holiday post cards within the first two days of arrival at our destination. Hence all my PPC's had been received by the folk back at home before I returned. My folk like to see the "foreign" post mark on the stamp; proof also that we have been "abroad".

You have a point Nathaniel but only if your holiday is more than a week, as I think it unlikely especially in Europe that a card posted even within the first two days would reach a UK destination within the week.

Another point of course is the personal satisfaction of preparing and sending a card that no one else can buy rather than the stands=ard scenes you buy in the shops
