    Brenda Tharp video

I came across this video: http://petapixel.com/2014/06/30/stat...graphs-impact/ about creating more impact. Apart from the fact that it is over 2 hours long and I can only take her voice for a maximum of 15 - 20 minutes before I fall asleep (I hope she is not a member here...), apart from all of that, I have found it endlessly fascinating. I was quite taken by some of her abstracts of trees. I was trying one of her techniques here:

    and here:

With a few more I won't bore you with here: https://flic.kr/s/aHsjZmUd2L

Before I say anything else, I KNOW that this will not be to the taste of many of the people here, but nevertheless I would be interested in feedback as to what you think is good, bad or just plain ugly!

    Many thanks

Thanks for taking the time to comment. Not sure whether it is to my taste either, but fun to experiment. I guess I. Posted them because I love the colours.

Looks like an abstract painting. I like it Richard. I could see them on a wall.

Richard, I like a bit of abstract art, and I like a bit of impressionism and these seem to fall somewhere between the two. So I like them! That said, I think that it works better with those where the original is tantalisingly almost recognisable, so I prefer the lavender, the 'deader' laurel leaves and the 'hooked' roses over the hydrangea, green laurels, wisteria and 'straight' roses. Hope that makes some kind of sense.

Thanks Tom and Alex. I am considering printing a couple large and I think I probably agree with you Alex about the preferences!

Thanks very much for taking the time to look and comment.

Richard I think these are ok and very different from the normal (if there is such a thing) images I see on this forum. Well done for trying something different.
