I know that some forum members win international competitions, and many win proper club competitions that are judged by proper judges.
But some of us are still scaling the foothills and looking at those higher and distant peaks afar...
Anyway, the Sport and Social club at my work runs an annual photo competition. Since I started taking my photography a bit more seriously in the last few years I have been entering, winning the odd category and coming 2nd or 3rd overall. So I thought that this year I'd have a big push this and entered a pic in every category (whether it was actually relevant or not
) which means I put in all my favourite pictures taken in the last year (all posted to this forum at some point). So, having had a blitz at it, it turned out that only about 4 of us entered anything at all.
So every image pretty well got into the top 3 of each category, and by sheer weight of numbers I got 1st place overall. Wahay!
This was all rather amusing, but it was capped off when I came into the office last week to find a stonking great trophy on my desk.
I do have a picture (which sort of was the amusing point of this thread), but the newthread.php bug is hitting me at the moment, so I'll try to add it later.
