    Should you let them run flat occasionally before recharging ?

    Lithium ion batteries aren't supposed to be run totally flat. I think the recommendation is usually to keep them above 15% as a minimum but preferably higher.

      Don't know what the official line is, but I've never done it with the battery on my 30D, and it's the original that I bought with the camera in 2006 and still going strong.
