    CPS crack me up

As you know I recently sold one of my 5d mkiii's (wife owns the other) to help fund the 300mm 2.8 mkii and traded my old 1dmkiv in towards the 1dx, so that now leaves me with Canon's top 2 bodies and a reasonably good set of glass (stopped counting at 20k) Updated my CPS yesterday as my renewal was due and they have dropped me from platinum to gold. . . . . . so upgrading gets you less? ? ? ? they have a twisted logic, nothing I can do - they presume that if you 'only own 2 bodies' then your not Platinum / pro worthy lol

Whilst I am sympathetic David, the requirements for platinum, gold and silver are clearly stated and have not been altered - as you now only have 2 bodies, then gold it is. I am only silver and to be honest the occasions when i have needed repairs have always been turned round very quickly, the last time was when the 7D went wrong, sent to Canon on Tuesday, acknowledged Wednesday, estimated and dixed Thursday and back with us on Friday - platinum, gold or silver you cant do better than that - OK loan equipment is bot available for silver membership but i have my own back up cameras anyway

        Agree with Stan.
My view is that it is a subtle marketing gimmick by Canon. Their structure is clear and fair - whether there is any real benefit is another matter...
