    Northern lights

Hi chaps thanks for the add.
I'm off to Norway at the end of this week, hopefully to get some images of the northern lights, any suggestions on the exposure settings to use, I have a 1D mk4 with a 24mm f 1.4, cheers Rod

    Re: Northern lights

    From trip to Iceland.
    ISO 800 f4 30secs

Should be a good starting point. Or some variation of these settings i.e. up ISO and reduce one or both of the others. If you want to avoid star trails divide focal length into 500 and that's the maximum exposure time in seconds.

Of course you'll need tripod and remote. Manual focus and focus to infinity.
