Best way of getting a Mode Dial plate reattached?

I have a 7DMk2 and the Mode Dial top plate has come off. It had a knock in June but nothing appeared to have been effected but I expect this must have affected the adhesion between the three locations on the mode dial under it and the plate.
My query is what is the best way of getting this sorted, does the whole part need replacing or can a repairer (or me) just re-glue the plate back on? At present I have three very small bits of BlueTrack holding it on!

John Canon have a number of approved repair agents in the UK ( e.g. Lehman's in Stoke, Fixation in London) plus Canon at Elstree. They would all give advice over the phone. Is the camera still in warranty if so they may even fix it under warranty for you

agree with Peter - although if it was me I'd be sending it off rather than doing a DIY job on it

Thanks both of you. I could see lots of problems with what glue to use my self, so yes I think it will have to go off to be fixed.

I phones Lehman's as suggested, it might need a replacement top plate, but they say they can do it under warranty. Clearly they can only tell when they check the camera and the service information but it sounds mad to me that a camera can need such a major replacement for such a thing. Not least this is in most respects a very tough camera and a part that sticks up is bound to be at risk (why pro ones I suspect do not use them along with extra weather proofing). Looking over the web I have found others with Canons losing the plats so I am not alone in this.
