          Well, I won't deny the technical quality of these or the composition. But to me they are just another set of stereotyped images of "quaint people in quaint parts of the world", tourism photos rather than travel photos. Travel photos should show the reality of life in other countries, not just the pretty bits. Images exactly like these can be seen in publications such as National Geographic for the past 50 years or so. Much like those people who go to Africa and come back with images of nothing but animals and maybe a few people in traditional costume, which hardly anyone wears these days, and never get out of the luxury hotels or game lodges to see what life is like for the majority. Travel photos should be of reality, otherwise they are just tourist company propaganda.

            Quite agree there are some familiar looking images. When I showed to my wife that was exactly her comment and only a couple she considered worthy of hanging on the wall
