This week has been quite a success for me! Firstly I get joint third in the photo challenge "cool", and today I won first place in our local village show for "Free Spirit" (the shot of the gin bottle escaping the bag)

The inside of my head can be a strange place at times, but it's good to know that the bits that leak out are appreciated

Even though there was no prize, and no doubt not many people in the village will know who I am, it really feels like I've won the lottery.

I'm going to frame the picture along with the result card as a little reminder of the day it all came together.

Congratulations Kev.
Must have been the weekend for winning as I also managed a 1st over the weekend.
I entered a competition for Action images with a polo shot I took back in May with my first ever use of a 100-400 L and became the winner with 60% of the votes.

I have never been a gambling man, but 60,000 plus to 1 doesn't sound good odds to me. Judging of the final 3,000 entries is on the telly next Sunday evening, to whittle it down to 12. I might just remember to watch it, if the TV happens to be on that channel ................ as if!

More seriously, well done David. To get 60% of the vote is quite an achievement.
