Re: Timely warning...be careful out there at this time of year
Hmm, 50m with mobile phone. So a dot in the image.
Suspect a lot closer than stated. Saw this a lot in Yellowstone with the elk.
Were lots of Chinese tourists and selfies with everything was par for course. One woman got within 4 or 5m of a stag trying to get the perfect selfie. Fortunately a park ranger was on hand to tell her off.Canon 5D3, 7D2, 60D, Canon 70-200L f2.8 IS II, Canon 300 f4L IS, Canon 16-35 f4 L, Canon 24-105mm f/4L IS USM, Canon 1.4 MkIII extender, Sigma AF 10-20mm f/3.5 EX DC HSM, Sigma 150-600 Contemporary, Tamron SP AF 70-300 F/4-5.6 Di VC USD, Canon EF-S 18-55mm 1:3.5-5.6 IS

Re: Timely warning...be careful out there at this time of year
I remember the stag attack very well. This was around 2010 when I was in Tatton park, cheshire, taking some pictures of the deer. I saw a Stag nearby and approached it and started taking some pictures, when it charged towards me. Fortunately I had parked my car nearby and managed to get into the driver's seat when the stag crashed into the side of the car and damaged the drivers side door. I couldn't open it from the inside. the damage to my car cost a good few hundred pounds paid by my insurers but I lost some points on my no claim bonus. I remember posting some pictures of this attack.

Re: Timely warning...be careful out there at this time of year
Talking to the rangers at tatton park today ,apparently last weekend was the worst they can remember for selfies with the deer ,despite massive signs up about the rut .and incredibly he told us about one dad who put his toddler on the back of a stag .the mind boggles ,apart from the danger don’t they know about ticks
