I once took a picture from on top of a bus?

    Coda
There will be times when you will be in the field without a camera. And, you will see the most glorious sunset or the most beautiful scene that you have ever witnessed. Don't be bitter because you can't record it. Sit down, drink it in, and enjoy it for what it is!

A friend of mine has just bought a drone. Think of a frame with four sets of helicopter blades and the whole thing is gyroscopically controlled and very easy to fly. It is controlled via his iPhone.

No point in me explaining it, have a look here and play the video.

He is going to mount a camera within it and take arial shots, but it is so new that he hasn't got any further yet, plus it's been very windy recently and he wants some still weather to get used to flying it.

Not much help yet, but who knows in a few weeks time.

A friend who uses N...n has done some good stuff with a large R/C helicopter. Is there anything you particularly want to know?

I have mounted a small Casio P&S camera to one of my radio controlled aircraft and taken some reasonable photos with that, not up to DSLR standard but quite acceptable. As Colin has said you can hang some pretty hefty and good quality cameras from the larger helicopters and they are a more stable platform for taking pictures as they will hover in one place rather than having to estimate what you are taking pictures of the way I did it.

In most of the R/C magazines or websites you will find small video or still cameras that are designed to hook onto the models if you are only loking for something of a low quality for webcasts. This is just one sample http://www.rc-cam.co.uk/Products.htm if you want to purchase from USA then there are far more available

The real question is what do you want to do?

Send your ID4 up in one of these RQ-170. Ah the military and their toys ...
