    Diamonds in Snow

On Sunday I observed the sparkles (diamonds) reflections from snow. But my attempts to capture these failed. Happen an old fashioned starburst filter is required ?

    Anyone got any tips?

    Thanks in advance.

The 24 - 70mm f2.8 L is great at natural starbursts stopped down to f22. I am sure plenty of other Canon L series can do it when well stopped down.

Lens starbursts always look far superior and more natural than starburst filters.

Thanks Colin. I'll use my 24-105 or 17-40 at f/22 (or as near as possible) ... but for now this corner of the UK must be alone in having no snow BUT my walk (Bakewell) has been cancelled (feet of snow) on Sunday "elfin'safety" I gather.

I found the 17-40L at f22 excellent for creating starbursts of street lights.
