    Micro Adjustment

I think my 6D mkII has wandered a bit on the auto-focus. A club member has offered me the loan of a Sypder Cal kit to reset if I need it, but before I start I'm looking for recommendations as to where I could get this done professionally if I mess things up. The nearer to South Bucks the better as (restrictions permitting) I'd prefer to fix an appointment and take the equipment there personally.

I wouldn't be worried about making a mess doing the adjustment yourself, any micro adjustment changes you make can always be undone. Is the problem just with a single lens or more than one ?

You only need to look in the EOS Magazine to find a Service agent. I use H Lehmann Ltd, always given me great service with a fast turnaround, less than ten day from sending gear to them you get it back.

John, doing micro adjustments is actually quite straight forward. Any adjustments you make are very easily reversed.

I've had concerns with the 24-105 STM and my 70-300 'L'. Not checked the 400 'L' yet and my Sigma 105 macro I normally manually focus anyway. Need to print off a test chart and see how AF works, then see if I can improve on it manually. I've got the CANON PDF on micro adjustment (2016) but need to see if there is an updated one around.

I have a form of dyslexia, (so the experts say) which seems to turn the simplest instructions to a mindless jumble which is why I asked. I really need a teacher and a blackboard.

Thanks for the replies, I'll check out Lehmans before I attempt it.

I use a chart that you can print off the internet. The address is http://blog.dojoklo.com/2009/11/30/a...us_test_chart/

I lay the chart on the floor and set the camera/lens on a tripod at 45 Degrees. It's worked perfectly for me and you can do no damage. It also avoids having to borrow someone else's kit. You can also do a quick check by focusing on the middle character of a car number plate at 45 degrees and seeing what you get.

            I hope this helps.

Thanks, Brian. I saw this on a YOU TUBE feature just yesterday but I'll print of and give it a go. CANON (USA) PDF suggests I need a lot more distance to do the long zoom and prime soI'll probably end up borrowing the Sypder chart as well.

I had a 500mm f4L IS lens with a 1.4 converter and adjusted it in the living room. Here are a couple of shots taken with that combo on a 1DX
