    How to photograph the moon?

Tonight I saw a nice full size moon and thought that would make a great photo.

Can someone please give me what settings I need to use to get a photo, thank you.

If you're shooting the moon you should treat it as daylight, after all it is 'daytime' on the moon.

As a rule of thumb, I have seen it suggested as f11 then what ever you set your ISO at you match with your shutter speed ISO100 at 1/100th, ISO200 at 1/200th etc.
BUT... I do stand to be corrected as this is a subject I too have only recently been looking into.

I do extremely little astro photography so the only advice I can offer is what I used to take some pics of the moon a while ago using my EOS-R. I was using my 100-400 lens with a 1.4 converter though and that might make a difference. I used a tripod for best stability. Settings:- ISO 100, 1/40 sec at f8, If I remember rightly I also used a cord release. You might find it easier to use live view and manually focus using the magnifier. Hope this helps.
