Dithering a bit at the moment as sensor isn't back side illuminated which is a slight negative and viewfinder is a bit low res too. Otherwise rest of spec sounds great and should be of interest to wildlife photographers.

Need to see some reliable reviews first.

Canon state that stabilisation is up to 8 stops using a combination of IBIS and lens IS. That's based on using RF 24-105mm F4 L IS USM at a focal distance of 105mm. With other lenses this can be less. For example: with RF-S 18-150mm F3.5-6.3 IS STM at a focal length of 150mm, you only get 7 stops.

After a bit of deliberation decided this is worth trying. So have pre ordered, wonder when it will arrive? Autumn?

Think my pondering means I missed the first batch (expected in June) and possibly the second batch too.

Will write my thoughts once I've had a 'play'. Fully expect July/August before I get it though.

The R7 caught my eye when it was announced. very tempted but....... its not designed to use a vertical grip - at all, so i won't be buying one. Canon have missed a trick there methinks. All my other cameras have grips - makes it sooooo much easier when shooting vertical images.

Agree, for some users this will be an issue. Use my 7D2 for wildlife and rarely shoot vertical so not really an issue for me.

My hope is that the body doesn't prove too small for my large hands.

I thought that this review (See link below) may be of interest to anyone who may be thinking of buying an R7. I'm not but whenever I'm considering a purchase of any kit this is my go to review site. He also has an R3 review.
