    DXO PureRaw 2

Thought I'd post another example of how well this software works.

First , the original image (record shot at best) is pretty rubbish for a number of reasons, flat grey light, bird is waaaay up high on a pylon and the pose is poor too. I thought it would be interesting to see how much difference DXO would make. For clarity the image was processed in DXO and then some minor changes to highlights and shadows on LR. Oh, a fairly big crop too. R7 with Sigma 150-600 C, 1/750, f5.6, ISO1000.

Although I'm not a great fan of these types of software, it is a truly remarkable improvement

Don't see myself using the software too much. Probably for bird images that are good but just need a lift or for rarer species where the only image might need recovering with this.

Forgot to add this is a male the female was perched even higher on the pylon. We'd seen them earlier bathing. It was noticeable that the female was about 50% larger than the male.

Wow, big difference from steat to end. Well worth it for once in a lifetime shot, rare birds etc.

Yep, exactly how I expect to use it. I'd seen the adverts for this software and was sceptical of the claims but after trying on a few images I'm happy to use it. I'm sure eventually technology will make such software unnecessary.
