    Old lens with new camera?

    Hi folks,
I'm new to photography so please forgive my ignorance.
I've just got my father-in -law's old Camera down from the loft and to my surprise it's an old Canon AE-1 film camera. Would you be kind enough to take a look at some of the photos in the link below, is the lens on the AE-1 compatible my my new 600D and if it is, what would be the normal usage scenario? Would it even be wise to use it on my camera?

    Thank you.

    Edit:

Actually, the photos may not be very helpful.

    The lens is a :-
    Miranda 35 - 70mm
    1:3.5-4.5 MC Macro
    55

    Hi Andy and welcome !

The older film canon has an FD mount the 600d has an efs/ef mount - so the answer is no.
Unless there is an in-expensive FD to EF/S adapter.

    Sorry

No probs Andy, I wouldn't chance that flashgun in your pics on your new eos.
Maybe you weren't going to try that anyway :-)

Were there any other lenses in the bag ?

No that's it I'm afraid, I only got the camera down because I need a bag/case for my 600. It seems a shame to remove the AE-1 from it's home. :-)
