I don’t know my wild flowers either!
Had a look on-line, Vipers Bugloss seems to look similar. The internet say ‘A beautiful native biennial commonly found in rough grassy areas close to the coast and sand dunes. The striking bright blue flowers are a favourite with bumble bees and day flying moths.’

Following on from my previous post, this morning I have looked up some further information on ‘Vipers Bugloss’.
one website (hooksgreenherbs) has this to say about the plant:—
      Herb usage
Viper's Bugloss gets its common name from the tale that it was an expellent of poisons and venom and could cure the bite of a viper! Its seeds also resemble snakes heads so this could also be a reason for this tale. In herbal medicine it was said that a tincture of this plant would alleviate fevers, headaches and nervous complaints and could relieve inflammatory pains. WARNING - All parts of this plant can cause mild stomach upset if ingested.

This is today’s information you also wanted to know!

Had a pleasant surprise today When one of the cactus in the greenhouse came into flower, they never last very long so you do not get long to get a pic. Thought it would be interesting to post two pics, one with the 35mm RF lense and the other With the TS-E.

After many years with large displays of lilies, this year I just have the single stem. It actually has four blooms and two more to come but thee two are the best. I took them this morning under different lighting conditions and composition, opinion in the family is divided over which is best; the family prefer the first, I prefer the second.

Good to see your lily pics Mountains013, that’s a lovely colour. Is it part of a larger display?

                        Hello Ian,
Both photos are good, I like the flower it is very elegant.
My vote goes with your family and the pic posted above, for me the background is more even in tone and it is slightly more in focus.

Another from Trerice - Allium sphaerocephalon (I think), but there are quite a few red ones, and I stupidly omitted to photograph the plant label.
