    Hello from the Captain

I just thought that I would say hello after registering on the forum. My interest in photography has developed over a good few years now. I have to come clean that I only have joined the ranks of Canon shooters during the last 2 years. Until then I had spent all my time looking through Olympus viewfinders. So why did I buy a Canon then? Simple, that the autofocus performance when shooting moving birds just was not up to the standard of Canon despite many manufacturers claims. It took me a long time to buy a Canon body but eventually it was obvious from borrowing friends equipment that it made a lot of sense and I bought a 7D.

As well as birds, I really enjoy snapping aircraft, macro and infra-red photography. Like so many of us I do not get enough time to devote to my hobby but I love spending time behind the camera. I am really looking forward to enjoying this forum and I hope it will turn out to be a good friendly home.

    Cheers

    Chris

PS Why CaptainD as my username? While I do work for a well known airline my motorcycling pals gave me the nickname thanks to Blackadder and where I worked and it has stuck for many years.

Hello Chris and welcome to the Forum.

The 7D is a very wise choice for birds in flight and aircraft.

                    Hello and welcome Chris.
The camera works just fine, it's the idiot staring through the viewfinder that need's help!
