.......... I'm John, been using a DSLR for about 7 years on and off (Unfortunately never owned a film camera), I live in Dorset on top of the Jurassic coast line, working full time as an environmental manager after 30 years in the Royal Navy. I shoot with a 1DX after losing my 1Ds MkII, which I had for many years, my shooting genre is predominately land and seascapes but I so want to take up wildlife and bird photography (If I ever get a long lens). So hope to learn a few things here (how to get closer to birds and wildlife with a short.... ish lens for starters!!) as i've seen some very impressive images out there that greatly inspire me.

Hi John and welcome to the forum, there are a number of members who love in your neck of the woods and who also do a lot of wildlife photography, you certainly have the right camera body for wildlife.
