It was my birthday on Monday I reached the ripe old age of 37 the two daughters woke me up with a landscape photographer of the year book 3 and 4 ,good start then the good lady hands me the complete light room 5 guide .That's me sorted chuffed to bits set up for the day got the day off work going to the pub for lunch perfect .whilst there the good lady says" you know that lens you've been saving for, are you going to order it and ill put the rest towards it" (almost spilt me pint) any way delivered today 17 40 l lens cant wait to get out now .dunno what ive done but im certainly in the good books

Brilliant stuff, Dave. I can see you'd be absolutely chuffed. Just beware, though, because your whole family has just built up serious brownie points. Expect to start paying soon as they call them in...

Thanks guys we are climbing Snowdon in a few weeks so that will be the first proper outing ,hoping to go somewhere local this weekend though
