    World's Smallest Diesel Engine?

I thought I would share this ... well worth watching what took 1220 hours to make the 261 hand made pieces:

Brilliant engineering, thanks MX5. I didn't see tiny spark plugs being fitted, is it driven by air?

I know that the word "diesel" is in the title of the thread but if you actually watch the video the title there is "The world's tiniest V12 engine", with no mention of diesel. A bit of googling suggests that it is in fact a working model i.e. not actually an engine and it is driven by air. Still brilliant though.

                    Re: World's Smallest Diesel Engine?

I was looking for piston rings, and didn't see any fitted so there won't be any compression.
Also, if this was a working diesel there would have been a need for a radiator.
Also, the sump was not filled with any oil.

It's a nice example of engineering, but everything points to it being air-driven and not a working engine.
