4x4 with spare tyre pinned to the back myself. Keep looking at cars and can't think of a reason to change it.
Did have a car where the spare tyre was slung underneath the back of the car and you had to wind it down using the tyre iron from inside the boot. Brilliant idea you think, till you have to lay in the mud to get the tyre back into the sling and back onto the catches for you to wind it back up under the car to continue the journery.
