    Seagulls

I know these birds are protected now but I'm struggling at the moment to see why. The duck population in my local park is having real problems with them - eating ducklings, stealing food etc. - and there are stories locally of people being attacked and a chihuahua pup being pecked to death but flocks. Add to that attacking people going to and from their homes when gulls have nested close by and their definitely becoming something of a menace.

    Time for a cull perhaps?

    Re: Seagulls

Always an issue and not just gulls as magpies are also a problem in urban environments. The rise in population of these birds is largely down to us either by feeding or leaving rubbish that attracts them.
Culling any animal is always contentious.
