    Star photography

Just went out to see if the sky is clear, with a view to taking some long exposure star photos, it's minus 3 and the patio is an ice rink, maybe I'll try another night, maybe in June.

I know the feeling, crystal clear skies but just so cold nobody in the right mind would venture out.

Tigerburnie - you just need to accoutre yourself appropriately!

When we were taking our northern lights photos in Finland at Christmas, it was -22 C, but skiing gear and silk gloves did the trick. The main danger is breathing near the lens - once anything is frozen on there, you can kiss goodbye to any decent images.
