    COVID hasn't gone away

I have just spent a week in Hospital, for 4 days I was in ITU receiving some amazing ,lifesaving treatment. The Doctors and Nurses were wonderful and literally saved my life. Back home now I am reflecting on my life and what to do next.
A warning to you all I took a lateral flow test and it came out negative. I had the new variant of the Virus.
Hope to be displaying more of my back catalogue from my Canon years (47 of them) soon.

Scary stuff Alan, hope you're on the mend now though! A doctor at the hospital told my partner and I that a lateral flow only shows a positive result when you're infectious. My partner had COVID and didn't show up on 3 lateral flows but mine showed positive within minutes and it's because I was infectious (spreading the disease)

Heating alot more lately about the latest COVID getting people on the respiratory side more than anything. I ended up in A&E 2 days after new years day because of shallow breathing and tight chest etc ( thought I was having a heart attack) and they said that it's a long term symptom of the COVID I had back in November .

Pleased to hear your back home though. Take it easy

Hi Alan. Sorry to hear of your health problems and pleased you are now at home recovering. Knew someone else with almost the same tale - it’s still out there, everyone needs to be aware.
I have the greatest respect for the NHS and find it hard to stomach the under funding, when we see so much money wasted on other things.
Look forward to seeing you posting on here again soon.

I have known a fair few people with it lately, but didn’t realise it was still that bad. Hope you recover completely and it is not long term, just take it easy. I suggest a gentle walk with camera in hand would do the trick.

Thanks to you all for your good wishes. I intend to get out in the hills as soon as I feel strong enough. I the mean time I will delve throughthe archives for some Canon based images to post. I am still sorry that I found it necessary to move from Canon after 47 years. The move has been a great success but I will keep an open mind and you never know I may return to Canon in future.

Nothing like fresh air and a bit of walking Alan to get the body back into shape - all the best.
