This was built in 1886 in Glasgow Necropolis, to commemorate Walter Macfarlane (1817-1885), the founder of Saracen Foundry, and his family. This foundry was responsible for much of the ornate ironwork around Scotland. The ironworks was so large, he built a whole town to accomodate the workers.
