    Yes the steam was the star but as you say in the re take its very flat. Judging by the definition in the cup did you move the light in front more

      Trev looking at the first set you seem to have a different angle both with the flash and camera. In the first shot you are looking very slightly into the mug and the flash seems to be more head-on, I wonder if this is making the difference. Keep trying as I believe you have the makings of a winner

        Thanks for the encouragement and suggestions. :-)

        I think I've run out of steam with these for now, although it was good fun, and I think I learned some stuff.

          Great shot Trevor - just goes to show there are beautiful images all around us - we just need to "see" the opportunity.

            Another vote for the first one. For all "thats wrong" it still has an awful lot that is right.

              Very good, agree about the bright bit on the handle and maybe darken down the top of the mug where there is reflection (your room) on it, but that's still a great shot!
