I led 10 on a 12 mile walk over Muncaster Fells. The fells themselves were swampy (well it’s peat) and to add interest there was a prolonged thunderstorm over the central fells (but fortunately it stayed there) and we had a brief shower. One footpath had turned into a river which we had to ford. Timing was impeccable; at Irton Road two steam trains crossed as if to order and the at The Green one of the group with an injury decide to take the train which arrived as we did.
