    Betws-y-Coed

Visited Betws-y-Coed for a 9.5 mile walk. There was a lot of snow particularly seen from the A55 between Connah's Quay and St Asaph. There were many cancellations so it was just me and a lady who de-coached first at Llanrwst. A quick look south (towards Betws-y-Coed) and it was clear the western route would be better. However we still encountered snow several feet deep.

There was much virgin snow obfuscating footpaths (and signs). So a forestry track seemed the best bet. This ends up at Ty Hyll (The Ugly House) on the A5. We then followed the Afon Llugwy to Betws-y-Coed (and made a detour to find the 1930 built suspension footbridge). It was -2C with a near continuous 15mph wind from the east. But appropriate apparel meant we were warm. Anyway here are some ffotograffau's

    1. Red & White (just liked the colour on what was a drab day) at Bwlch-yr-haiarn

    2. The disused Hafna Mine (near Nant Uchaf)

    3. Rhaeadr Ewynnol (Swallow Falls)

    f/4 1/640 ISO-200 (6 image vertical stitch)

    4. Lamb wondering what the white stuff is

    f/5.6 1/1000 ISO-200

I concur, I think the Lamb is the winning shot.

Agree the lamb shot is a cracker, and I also rather like the colours in the phonebox shot.

You where brave MX - I stayed infront of the fire with a book.

Good set as always MX, I rather like the Station Pic, but also the Lamb and the Perfect Snow Hat on the Phone Box.

Although the Phone Box looks quite Old I can see it has a Modern phone inside, who can remember the A and B Button Phones and being able to Tap out the number you wanted and get through for free? ( That's giving my Age away a Bit!!!)

                      Regards Paul

#2 and #3 in that order MX, I suspect that the falls would have also looked impressive from the bottom, but me thinks wait for spring or even later to find out!!!

I'm just eccentric I think ... the only other person we met was a rotund chap with a white beard wearing a red coat walking a reindeer.

Anyway --- thanks everyone hope you enjoyed your weekly walk.

Like the station pic plenty of detail, good expression from the lamb shot. It certainly wasn,t the right conditions for long walks.
