    I reckon the pigeon could take off and be a couple of hundred metres away before the buzzard had got going. It would probably have to be on the ground with the buzzard swooping down from above to have any chance.

      I'm amazed that the buzzard caught a stonechat. Saw a pic couple of years ago of one of the Dover peregrines and a wood pigeon just a few feet apart in a tree.

        I was rather surprised as I have only seen them with worms but here is the shot as it disappears down his gullet - swallowed it whole. One of Dees shots
