Cory and I spent a good 6 hours walking around a large part of the Lee Valley lakes today, really beautiful area if anyone is stuck for somewhere to go for a day out. Anyway - few shots from today's stomp, all with 1D mk4 / 300mm 2.8 mk2 and the 2x extender mk3. So all handheld at 600mm (camera shake was def an issue)
#1 - 1/500, f/5.6, iso 200 - Long tailed tit playing with it's food
#2 - 1/320, f/8, iso 100 - Incoming Canadian Goose
#3 - 1/800, f/6.3, iso 100 - Cormorant fly by (needed quicker shutter speed really)
#4 - 1/800, f/5.6, iso 640 - Coot on the approach, my best coot shot to date
#5 - 1/640, f/5.6, iso 640 - A more perfect model I couldn't have asked for
#6 - 1/640, f/5.6, iso 250 - Best I could get of the 'Lapwing' (seeing them everywhere now I know the name) into the sun and amonst the grasses
Need to go again either without the extender or a monopod / tripod as my keeper rate really was depressing. Thanks for looking and as always - feel free to comment / critique
