      Excellent Frightning shot Neil.

Picking up a MK1 EF500MM F4.0 IS USM on Saturday, It's S/H, but from a dealer and has been checked over, it is a 2007 model, but looks like it has had very light private use, no marks on the glass, mount is mint and very little marking externally either with no paint chips, importantly it comes with a 6 months warranty on it. I took my camera in last weekend and ran some shots through it, which were tack sharp. (it impressed me how good the shots look even a x2 or x3 full size)

        Hi Tony,

The Mk I is a good lens, just a bit on the heavy side - gives great pictures, though. Look forward to seeing how you get on. I've started using a tripod more for the slow shutter speed shots, such as landing and take off pictures. In fact, I tend to use the tripod as an expensive camera stand, at times.

        Cheers,
        Neil

            Very impressive, real dramatic action.

I personally think these two are great shots. Leaving enough room for the plane to fly into is nice but imo not always the case.

I remember the Jags well, we had them where I was when I was in the RAF.
