    EOS 450D heated up...

A friend has an EOS 450D that heats up and stops working when she is using it for a few minutes under sunshine. Obviously there is something wrong, as I have seen the same model working for hours in the sun without any problem. Anyone with a similar experience? Thanks.

I have owned the 450D for some time and took it to Canada 2 years ago. It functioned perfectly well with no problems. It is a very reliable camera. This could be a "shorting" problem somewhere and I would certainly send it to Canon for service or repair.

I concur with Nat... there's something dodgy there, and you're friend would be best to repair it before it gets worse or damages other parts!

        Is her battery life poor?

        Oh Lord won't you buy me a 300mm F2.8L (or at a push, a 200-400 F4).

I was wondering the same, is she using a genuine Canon battery?

Whoops about to purchase used 450d body great price and condition boxed with all bit/ bobs, as back up to 7d maybe putting 450 d onto 400mmL lens.for bird photography. The 7D is great camera but full of bells and whistles feel you are unable to relax mind you still finding my way around it.The 450D may just allow me to relax slightly not to much , realise birds do not hang around.Hope our friend in Greece did not mind me nipping in there.
