A friend has an EOS 450D that heats up and stops working when she is using it for a few minutes under sunshine. Obviously there is something wrong, as I have seen the same model working for hours in the sun without any problem. Anyone with a similar experience? Thanks.

Re: EOS 450D heated up...
I have owned the 450D for some time and took it to Canada 2 years ago. It functioned perfectly well with no problems. It is a very reliable camera. This could be a "shorting" problem somewhere and I would certainly send it to Canon for service or repair.Canon 6D; Canon 760D;Canon G15;Canon 40mm f2.8(Pancake);Canon 50mm f1.8(ii); Canon 17mm-40mm f4L;Canon EF-S 10-18mm f4.5-5.6 IS STM;Canon EF-S 55-250mm f4-5.6 STM lens;Canon 24mm-105mmf4L IS;Canon 70-300mm f4-f5.6 L IS USM;Kenko 1.4x HD TC;Canon 430EX ii flash;Giottos tripod;Manfretto monopod;Cokin P filters + bits and pieces!

I concur with Nat... there's something dodgy there, and you're friend would be best to repair it before it gets worse or damages other parts!

Re: EOS 450D heated up...
Whoops about to purchase used 450d body great price and condition boxed with all bit/ bobs, as back up to 7d maybe putting 450 d onto 400mmL lens.for bird photography. The 7D is great camera but full of bells and whistles feel you are unable to relax mind you still finding my way around it.The 450D may just allow me to relax slightly not to much , realise birds do not hang around.Hope our friend in Greece did not mind me nipping in there.CANON 2000D CANON 70D CANON 100-400MML MK1 CANON70-200MML F4 USM CANON 17-85 IS USM CANON SPEEDLITE 550EX CANON SPEEDLITE 270EX
