Er01 on 6D and on 7D. All other lenses fine.

Well it's better that it happened now then when we are away from home on holiday. So I need to send it back to Canon rather than a recommended third party, is what I have observed on this thread. So that's my job tomorrow lunchtime.

Hope it goes well for you. When I recently had a problem with my 7D i phoned Canon and got the most hopeless Polish girl on the other end. I gave up and put the phone down. Took it to Park Cameras, and they did the leg work! Im reluctant to deal with Canon direct again.

Mines manufactured in 2006 at the Utsunomiya, Japan. It's been my main lens so I think it's done well; I think.

Wow. Had a call today (Tuesday) from a very polite Canon guy. Remember I only posted it at around 12:00 Monday. He told me how much the repair would be, the approximate time to repair, and took my payment.
I do hope its back in time for me to take Pictures of my daughter before she heads off to her prom on Friday 5/7. I have my 100mm f2.8 and 50mm but I like my 24-105.

Just had mine repaired by Canon for a second time with the same problem. I was getting ‘Err 0.‘ They replaced the diaphragm assembly as well as giving it a full overhaul. Cost £104.
