Just an update, I bit the bullet and ordered one from HDEW as well, at £569, late on Wednesday. Delivered this morning (Friday) at 8.30am, and successfully registered with Canon.
Well impressed with the service from HDEW, and the telephone manner and help offered when I called them. Lens seems pretty good too!

No, but I have one on order from Amazon at a reasonable price. Lens will not be going outdoors until it arrives!
