    Photoshop disappearing brush

    Hi all,

Had a rather frustrating evening trying to edit some photos on Monday. For an unknown reason when using the brush tool only cross hairs were viable, i. e. I had no indication of the size of the brush I was trying to use.

As usual, I resorted to Google and after some reading Discovered the issue was that caps lock was on. Caps lock allow you to view the very Centre of the brush for very accurate editing.

Thought I'd share as it was news to me!

That's news to me too. My tip is that you can resize the brush by using the bracket keys on the keyboard.

IIRC there is an option in preferences to have brushes shown as precise or size (I think that's the terms)

            Re: Photoshop disappearing brush

You can resize the brush size by using the square bracket keys - [ or ]. The r/h key makes it bigger, the L/H makes it smaller. If you hold the shift key down when pressing the square bracket keys that makes the edges of the circle harder or softer.

If you press Control + Alt + Right key* you can increase or decrease the size of the brush be moving from left to right, and change the hardness by moving up and down.

(*Edit..that's right key on a mouse. Don't know what it will be if you're using the touchpad!)

I think I'm getting to an age, where I'll need to print out all these shortcuts and stick them on the monitor. :o

Obviously very popular going by the discounted price, but many thanks for posting. I didn't know such things existed and it could have been very useful, before I learnt all the shortcuts.

I first saw them years ago, but they were too dear then. I know most of the shortcuts now, so I dont need it either!
