Have you tried posting from your computer, rather from a URL? It is an option on the 'Insert image' link.

Robert, The reason that a lot of us post from links is that we don't like the little tiny thumbnails that the standard forum software displays and then you have to click on it to get a bit larger image in a 'lightbox'. We prefer a full sized image in the post.

My suggestion was aimed at The Real Swoosh. It would be useful to know if using the 'Insert Image' option works when posting a link gives a 503 error.
