I just 'Googled' phpBB, and got this:

You need to enter everything between the quote marks:

'phpBB The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to maintenance downtime or capacity problems'

to see that phpbb also suffers from the 503 error.

You can search for long sentences, or even paragraphs, in Google. I often use this feature to find the origin of the information that some people copy and paste on their own websites without crediting the original source.

I apologise if I've "P'd" anyone off suggesting Tapatalk as part of the problem. But it just seems to me that the 503 appeared all at once. Which just seems to indicate, something added, something moved, or something taken out.

Latest update - for the last couple of new postings I decided to try and post text and pictures together and for the first time in a while they both worked first time

I have made several changes to forum coding and settings so:
a) I have resolved the problem
b) you have given up posting about errors
c) the problem has gone away all by itself, but will probably return.

OK this is what happened to me (see post above).

1. I posted some text along with bbcode of 1 Flickr picture and this worked.
2. Then I edited and added some more text. This worked fine.
3. Then I edited again and tried to add 7 x bbcode i.e. for 7 pics along with some exif info text (I had all of this saved in a notepad ready for posting). This gave me the server unavailable message and then I see what it's actually posted above is one picture and just part of the text. 4. Any attempts to now go back and edit and replace it with step 1 above results in the server unavailable message.

Hopefully what I just attempted to do has not screwed things up for any one else. I think we need to make sure we only ever post one picture at a time.

Could well be. I wonder what it was that cleared it out. If it was something Robert has done let's hope he can do it again as I'm unable to post again.
