    Just one lens!

OK folks, imagine that you're in a situation where you can only have the one lens. Which lens would it be and why?

I did the whole wedding on Sunday with the 24-105 so that would be mine. Always on my camera now. :)

I use a 7D so it has to be the EF-S 15-85 - the 24-105 of the cropped sensor world

I'd have to say the 24-105 as well, considering its been used for over 80% of my photos with my 700D.

I have a holster style camera bag which takes the camera and one lens, and I quite often go out with the 70D and the 15-85 on.

For the SL1 (100D) I use the Tamron 24-75mm f/2.8, why for the f/2.8 across the lens.

24-105 all the time, but would love it to be f2.8

On a side note have you seen how cheap the 24-105 is now!

It is true Ian, i was once thinking of selling it for a 2.8 and kept it as they were going for so little and not worth it considering how much i use it.

                          Re: Just one lens!

I've done a few weddings, christenings and random outdoor shoots and never take the 24-70 F2.8L off my lens. I thought I would use the 70-200 more but in practice the 24-70 is the work horse. Its an amazing lens.

I'll was keeping my 24-105 purely for landscapes because I have circular polariser and some other 77mm screw in ND filters but I just bought 82mm versions to fit the 24-70 so will be selling the 24-105 and filters soon.

I was the same Lee at the weekend there. Didn't even lift the 70-200 out the bag. Might upgrade to the 24-70 2.8 later if I get more enquiries.

I can see the 24-70 being a real workhorse at weddings and whilst the 70-200 would be nice to have for closer work thats when you really want two bodies and a strong shoulder to take both cameras
