    Re: personal liability insurance

Agreed some of them don't care a hoot unless you're claiming, that's why I will always insist on giving as much info as possible, whether they ask or not.
    Maybe I'm just cynical :-)
    Hi Trev

I got a call from one insurer(and trust me I've had a lot) and i told them what i would be doing and they agreed it would be a higher risk and said they would ring me back,Funny I'm still waiting for that call.So maybe its good to be cynical.

      Re: personal liability insurance

Surely Public Liability shouldn't really affected by where you are - its not as if you are going to be racing yourself? (I could understand if its personal accident insurance).

I have a £5 million PLI which costs me just under £100 / year (but has no provision within it for loss or damage to my kit or to me - its purely 3rd party cover)

          Thanks Oldcanon for your reply,

It's a confusing issue and I'm getting more confused by the day,What i will say is that i think i should have cover just to be on the safe side anyway, as i do the local sports coverage every weekend so it would be nice to have some fall back just in case.
But when covering big events, looking at the small print i don't think i would get much joy reading that below !

Excluding aerial and underwater photography, Excluding media and news reporting work.. Excluding hazardous locations.

          Your correct Jim, my mistake.

Many thanks to all that's contributed to this thread

            Re: personal liability insurance

That still reads as if they are talking about personal accident / equipment insurance to me - most odd? Anyway, I hope you get it sorted as I'm finding I can't even do craft markets and the like without £5 million PLI these days
